Introduction
It's taken a little longer than originally planned since we
swerved to port onto Windows CE, but now available is COOL.STF's
latest edition of our premier terminal emulator - ZTERM 2000.
Now available for downloading,
ZTERM 2000 will add state-of-the-art connectivity between your
32-bit Windows PC and a host computer running Unix, AMOS or many
other text-based operating systems.
If you've been a fan of ZTERM for Windows 1.2 since it's release
and have registered your copy, you automatically qualify for a
50% discount on your ZTERM 2000 license. If you've installed ZTERM
1.2 within the last 90 days and then upgrade to ZTERM 2000, as
long as you do it prior to June 30, 2000, your upgrade is free.

New features
ZTERM 2000 has these new features compared it's predecesor
- ZTERM for Windows 1.2:
Display Related
- TrueType is now fully supported, including graphics. The
ZTERM window can now be sized to any size and the font will adjust
automatically and in the majority of cases, fill the entire window.
Full screen means full screen now!
- Euro symbol is now supported in 8-bit mode with character
164 when using a TrueType font
- Monochrome emulators can now have a separate color specified
for low-intensity. Additionally, right clicking on the emulation
window allows colors to be selected quickly
- Full screen mode has a new option that allows the toolbar
to automatically hide itself unless used
- Border redrawing code changed - this prevents the window
from flickering so much when the ZTERM window is resized
Developer Escape Sequences
- New escape sequence to setup the FTP username and password
for the next transfer
- New escape sequences for enhanced application help
- Co-Star escape sequences supported in all emulators
Connectivity
- TAPI is supported for modems, allowing ZTERM to work with
any modem supported by Windows
- Dialing locations are now supported just like many other
Windows applications
- ZTERM now supports an unlimited number of serial ports
- Standard serial protocols like X-Modem and Y-Modem are now
supported
- ZTERM negotiates the terminal type correctly with Linux systems
- Improvements to ZTXFER - compatibility with Multi and many
bug fixes. If you use ZTXFER, don't forget to update the Alpha
Micro after installing ZTERM 2.0.
Emulation
- In the AM62x and Wyse based emulators, escape sequences can
now be sent through to the printer when using tranparent print
mode
- Bug fixes in the VT and ANSI emulators
- Corrected a scrolling region problem with VT100 and ANSI
emulators
- Added a TTY emulator that just processes carriage-return,
line-feed and bell. Useful for collecting raw data from a host
User Convenience
- The startup command can now include control characters
- An unlimited number of profiles are now supported and ZTERM
now includes a powerful profile configurator
- Profile Import and Export are supported. By setting up a
profile and exporting to a shared directory, all other ZTERM
users can Import the configuration which can dramatically speed
up deployment
- Startup commands can now use input fields for both normal
and password text - a dialog displays a message and the response
is merged into the startup command
- Function keys can now be user defined via a new dialog
- Log to clipboard function added
- The evaluation period for ZTERM is now extended to 30 days
- Sessions that are idle for a specified time can now be automatically
closed
